Location Tracker Plus helps you estimate where you are using your phone’s GPS and cellular network — built for field use surveying and checking whether GPS matches the cell network.

The app reads your serving 4G/5G cell tower (MCC MNC TAC Cell ID signal strength) and combines it with GPS to build a local fingerprint database on your device. Over time it learns where each cell is likely to be so location estimates improve even when you move between areas with different coverage.

HOW IT WORKS

In Normal mode the app records fingerprints: on this cell tower at this signal strength GPS was here. Those samples stay on your phone and are used to estimate location when you return to the same area.

In Hostile mode the app prioritizes cell-based location and uses GPS only as a reference to detect possible spoofing. If GPS and the cell network disagree by a large distance the app warns you.

BACKGROUND COLLECTION (OPTIONAL)

You can start background collection from Settings. When active the app shows a persistent notification and continues sampling while the screen is off. You can stop collection anytime from Settings or from the notification. Background collection never runs without your explicit action and without that visible notification.

MAPS AND ONLINE LOOKUPS

Google Maps is used to display maps and location markers. Optional Google Geolocation API lookups can estimate tower location when local database matches are not available. You may use a built-in key or paste your own API key in Settings.

BACKUP AND PRIVACY

Export your full database (fingerprints tower cache route history) as JSON or import a backup to restore or move data. Most information is stored locally on your device. See our privacy policy for full details.

Note: Version 2.0 is a major update with a redesigned interface and a new on-device database. Data from very old app versions may not transfer automatically.
