FIND THE HABIT NOT JUST THE MISS A notebook keeps the day. Shutter Line reads the weeks. It looks at every finished routine and tells you plainly when one job is missed far more often on one weekday or on one person's shifts than the rest of the time. For example: "Read the freezer temperatures is missed on Fridays 4 times out of 5 against 0 of 25 the rest of the time."

FAIR TO EVERYONE ON THE ROTA It won't call three bad mornings a habit. A pattern is only named once that day or that person has come round enough times and once the gap is large enough to mean something. You choose both thresholds. Until then a miss is just reported as a miss.

EVERY DAY KEPT AS IT HAPPENED Open any past day and see exactly what was done what was left who was on shift and when it was finished. A finished routine is recorded in full so editing your list later never rewrites the past. A day filled in from memory is marked as entered late.
