Can you keep track of a cube while it tumbles in your head?
DLR Cube Rotate is a mental rotation game built around the classic cube task used in pilot aptitude screenings. Picture a transparent cube with a single red side.
The app calls out commands one after another and your job is to flip that cube in your mind and say where the red side ended up.
HOW TO PLAY
There are only four commands: LEFT RIGHT FRONT and BACK. On each command the cube tips over the matching bottom edge exactly as if you pushed it across a table.
Follow the whole sequence then pick the final position of the red side: Left Right Front Back Top or Bottom. Simple rules no mercy for a wandering mind.
WHY PILOTS TRAIN THIS
Spatial orientation and mental rotation are a standard part of pilot selection and aviation aptitude testing. This app lets you practice the same kind of task as often as you like at a speed you choose so the mental picture becomes automatic instead of exhausting. But you do not need a license to enjoy it: it is a compact brain teaser that works just as well while waiting for a bus.
FEATURES
* Levels from gentle to brutal: more commands less time between them
* Custom mode: set the number of commands and the delay yourself down to a fraction of a second
* Three ways to receive a command at once or only the ones you want: arrows text and sound. Turn off arrows and text and play the game entirely by ear
* Optional hidden starting position for an extra layer of difficulty
* Warmup countdown before the commands start
* Full history of your games with every command replayed step by step so you can find exactly where you lost the cube
* Statistics: games played success rate current and best streak average and fastest answer time plus a breakdown per level
* Axes rotation mode that changes the rules and rotates the cube around its center axes instead of the bottom edge
* Built in manual and a How to play guide with worked examples
* Light and dark theme or follow the system
* Share your result as an image
* Works offline no account no sign up
TIPS
* Start with short sequences and slow timing until the picture in your head is stable
* Sound only mode is the hardest and the most useful: nothing on screen to lean on
* Check the history after a wrong answer. The step by step replay shows the exact command where your mental cube and the real one went their separate ways
* Short daily sessions beat long rare ones
Whether you are preparing for an aviation assessment or just want a puzzle that actually makes you think grab the cube and start flipping.
