ولد الشيخ فارس عباد في العاصمة صنعاء بتاريخ حادي عشر أبريل من العام 1980. هو ثاني أكبر إخوته، متزوج وأب لثلاثة أولاد وبنت واحدة.

ظهر اهتمامه بالقرآن الكريم منذ نعومة أظافره فحفظ المصحف وختمه وهو يتردد على مدارس التحفيظ بعدد من المساجد بصنعاء، وتخرج من حلقات التحفيظ النموذجية التي افتتحت بمسجد بلال بن رباح حيث كان يخالط كبار المشايخ، فنهل من علمهم وأخذ عنهم قواعد وأصول قراءة القرآن الكريم، منهم الشيخ فضل مراد. كما تأثر الشيخ بكبار المقرئين المعروفين خصوصا الشيخين عبد الباسط عبد الصمد ومحمد المحيسني.

برزت موهبة الشيخ فارس عباد في تلاوة القرآن الكريم وأعجب الجميع بعذوبة صوته الذي جمع بين الشجن والخشوع، فتولى الإمامة في صلاة التراويح بجامع بلال بن رباح ابتداء من العام 1994 ولمدة سبع سنوات.

وشيئا فشيئا برز نجم الشيخ فارس عباد في عالم قراءة القرآن وامتد صيته ليبلغ سائر أرجاء العالم الإسلامي، من خلال تسجيلاته الصوتية الوافرة العدد، أبرزها المصحف المرتل كاملا في العام 2003، والذي نالت حقوقه تسجيلات القادسية التي يقر الشيخ عباد بدورها الكبير في نشر صوته وقراءاته، كما سجل الختمة القرآنية الكاملة والرقية الشرعية وقصيدة " نونية القحطاني" ذات الثمانمائة بيت التي شداها بصوته، ومقدمة ابن القيم "وصف الجنة"، وأذكار طرفي النهار، ورقية المس ورقية السحر. هذا فضلا عن تسجيله لبعض المتون العلمية كما يتأهب الشيخ عباد لإصدار حصن المسلم بحلة جديدة.

قضى الشيخ فارس عباد بضع سنوات بالمملكة العربية السعودية حيث صلى بالناس بجامع علي بن أبي طالب بمدينة الظهران ابتداء من العام 2006، قبل أن ينتقل سنتين بعد ذلك للعيش بإمارة عجمان بدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة.

يشتغل الشيخ عباد حاليا كمقرئ بقناة المجد الفضائية للقرآن الكريم، وأجرى أول لقاء تلفزيوني له في شهر ماي من العام 2011 ضمن برنامج " القرآن" الذي تبثه قناة الشارقة الإماراتية.
