This is a simplified app designed for quick calculation of beams
under Point Load Moment Load and Uniformly Distributed Load. 4
types of end supports conditions are available: Simple Supports;
Cantilever One end Simple Support one Fixed both ends Fixed. Beam
section has 3 options: Circular Rectangular and I. Using I section
inputs various other sections can also be calculated like Hollow
Rectangular Section L Section U Section T Section C Section
channels and others.
In case of uniformly Distributed Loads an option of Own Weight inclusion in bending calculations is available with click of a button. App calculates all critical values which are required for design like Bending Moment Stress Slope Deflection End Reactions and others. These values can be calculated at any location of the beam. In case of multiple loads calculations can be done considering each load at a time and adding the results using superposition method. App stores last entered input values for each section independently.
The calculation in this app is based on flexural theory of beams only and effect of Shear is not considered as it is negligible if beam is short. For in depth analysis of beams including effect of Shear Stresses and deflection try our app Stresses and deflection in beams which is available for free in Play Store.
